Fans of the cuisine of Joel Gross are beating a path to The Timber Batts which is a 15th century pub (built in the reign of Henry VII)- with an authentic French restaurant "Froggies" - set in a hamlet deep in unspoilt and spectacular Kent countryside at Bodsham, near Wye, Ashford. The beamed and timbered bar has an inglenook fireplace the size of a small room and, on a lower level, a reception bar with a large open fire. The restaurant has its own huge fireplace, more beams, plus old pine tables (some with low back settees) and candles. Favourites include superb stuffed mussels, a classic duck confit salad, perfect rack of lamb with herbs, and prime fillet of beef with Roquefort sauce amongst others. Froggies offers three different menus - a wide-ranging daily a la carte menu; a selection of daily specials and a comprehensive bar snacks menu.
